A mixed bag of fruits and nuts

There’s a lot of good and a lot of crazy that can come out of the mouth of a poet if you give them enough free time.

That’s what this is.

A lot of fun and good times.

I lent it to my great Christian friend who threw it back at me thinking that it was JUST wholesome and nice things until she got to the poem about masturbation and then decided that adult life wasn’t to her liking. It wasn’t crude in my opinion, but that’s the thing with people. You really can’t tell who is going to think what about what. Art to me is crude and vile to someone else… I get it.

And that’s alright. I’ve come to expect nothing less of people. I don’t take anyone for granted or dismiss anyone’s tastes about anything anymore. People are people and I can deal with that. But, for what it’s worth… Sorry to offend you Heidi.

Do you need a content warning? Alright sure. Adult themes. There. I’ve said it. There might be a cigarette and an orgasm. Welcome to poetry.

Granted it’s good poetry but maybe just not for everyone.

There were some things
I wanted to share
I don’t know where

Today is taking too long

I’ve got to find a reason

There is no time like the present
To wash all of my troubles away

There is no place other than in your arms
To take away the fear, to take all of my pain

It’s your smile baby… That gets me through the day.
