1 In headships, Ha’Dabar[1] existed.

And Ha’Dabar existed with Ha’ALAHAYAM.

And Ha’Dabar existed as Alahayam.

2 He existed in headships as the Chief Representative of Ha’ALAHAYAM. 3 The whole—all of us—existed upon His hand and, separate from Him, all we which existed, we would not have existed.

4 In Him existed the living ones, and the living ones existed as light to the sons of the A’dam. 5 And the Light shone into Chashak[2], and the Chashak could not comprehend Him.

6 And there existed a man sent forth from ath–Ha’ALAHAYAM, and his name was Ya’u’chanun. 7 He came for a testimony, for a witness upon the Light for the purpose and intent that all of them might have faith upon His hand. 8 He did not exist as the Light, but conditionally, he came to bear witness over the Light: 9 “This is He, the true, original Light shining unto all A’dam that has come toward the world.”

10 He existed in the world, and upon His hand we have existed, but the world did not recognize Him. 11 He has come toward that which belongs to Him, and that which belongs to Him did not receive Him. 12 But all those receiving ath-Him, those faithful in His name He gave to them the legal right to exist as sons unto ALAHAYAM. 13 Who were brought forth—not from blood and not from the desire of the flesh, also not from the desire of a warrior, but conditionally, from ALAHAYAM. 14 And the Dabar existed as flesh, and He did tabernacle among us. And we observed His splendor, a beautiful source of joy as the One and Only, unique Son of His Father, full of chasad [3]and truth.

15 And Ya’u’chanun did bear witness concerning Him. And he did call out, saying, “Behold! This is He Whom I spoke concerning Him, [that] He will come after me, ascending over me, for He existed before me. 16 And from His fullness we have received—all of us—chasad upon chasad, 17 for the Thu’urah[4] was given from the hand Mashaha, the chasad and the truth has come upon the hands of YASHA’UĂ the MASHAYACH. 18 From ancient time, no man has seen ath–Ha’ALAHAYAM. The One and Only, unique Son which was in the bosom of the Father, He is One Who has made Him known.”

19 This is the testimony of Ya’u’chanun when the Yaha’u’dayam sent out from Yara’u’shalam priests and La’u’yam to question ath-him, “Who are you?” 20 And he acknowledged and did not deny [it], and he admitted and declared, “I—I am not the Mashayach.” 21 And they asked ath-him, “Who therefore are you? Are you Alayaha’u?” And he declared, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” And he answered, “No.” 22 And they declared toward him, “Who are you? For the purpose and intent [that] we might return an answer to those who sent us forth? What word will you declare over yourself?” 23 And he declared, “I am a voice calling out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the Way of YAHAUAHA,’ just as was spoken by Yasha’ă’yaha’u[5] the prophet.”

24 And the ones existed having been sent forth from the Phara’u’shayam.[6] 25 And they demanded of him, and they declared toward him, “Wherefore then do you immerse if, conditionally, you are not the Mashayach or Alayaha’u or perhaps the Prophet?” 26 And Ya’u’chanun replied unto ath-them, and he declared, “I am one who immerses in water, however, in your midst stands One Whom, ath-Him you have not known. 27 He has come after me Who shall ascend over me. And I—I must become small, [for I am one] who is unworthy to loosen the lacing of His shoes.” 28 These things happened in Bayath Ăbarah,[7] from the passing over of the Yaradan, at the place of rising, there where Ya’u’chanun was immersing.”

29 And it existed on the next day, that Ya’u’chanun observed ath-YASHA’UĂ coming toward him, and he declared, “Behold! The Lamb of Ha’ALAHAYAM the Exalted Who carries away the sins of the world! 30 This is He, of Whom I have spoken concerning Him, ‘He will come after me, a Man Who will ascend over me, for He existed before me.’ 31 I did not know Him, except, conditionally, but on account that He would be revealed unto Yashar’AL in my coming to immerse with water.” 32 And Ya’u’chanun bore witness, and he declared, “I saw the RA’UCH. She appeared like a dove. She descended from Shamayam, and She will rest over Him. 33 I did not know Him, however, the One Who sent ath-me forth to immerse in water, He said toward me, “Ath-Whoever She, the RA’UCH shall reveal, She will descend, and She will rest upon Him. Behold! This is He, the One immersing in the RA’UCH Ha’QUDASH. 34 And I—I have observed, and I will bear witness that this is He, the Son of Ha’ALAHAYAM.”

35 And it existed on the next day, that Ya’u’chanun continued, and he stood, and two from his students were [standing] with him. 36 It happened, when he observed Him, ath-YASHA’UĂ, Who was walking, that he declared, “Behold! The Lamb of Ha’ALAHAYAM!” 37 And two of the students heard ath-his word, and they walked, following after YASHA’UĂ. 38 And YASHA’UĂ turned, and He observed ath-them, the ones walking, following after Him. And He declared toward them, “What do you seek?” And they declared toward Him, “Great One (which under examination [means] “teacher”), where do you lodge?” 39 And He declared toward them, “Come and see.” And they came, and they saw ath-the place [where] He resided. And they settled down to dwell with ath-Him on that day. And this happened at the tenth hour. 40 And one from the two that heard Ya’u’chanun and that had walked, following after Him, he was Andrea, brother of Shama’ă’un Petros. 41 He first found ath-Shama’ă’un his brother, and he declared toward him, “We have found ath-the Mashayach (which is rendered as “Christos”).” 42 And he brought him toward AL YASHA’UĂ, and it existed, upon YASHA’UĂ looking toward him that He declared, “You are Shama’ă’un, son of Ya’unah. To you, he will call out of you Kepha[8] (which is rendered as “Aban”).”[9] 43 And it existed from the morrow, that YASHA’UĂ determined to go forth unto the Galayalah. And he found ath-Phillippos,[10] and He declared toward him, “Walk! Follow after Me!” 44 And Phillippos existed from Bayath Tsayadah,[11] the city of Andrea and Petros. 45 And Phillippos found ath-Nathunu’Al, and he declared toward him, “We have found ath-Him of Whom Mashaha has written of in the saphar of the Thu’urah and the prophets, ath-YASHA’UĂ Ban Ya’u’saph, from Natsarath.[12] 46 And Nathunu’Al declared toward him, “Does any good go forth from Natsarath?” And Phillippos said toward him, “Come and see.” 47 And YASHA’UĂ observed ath-Nathunu’Al coming in His direction, and He declared over him, “Behold! In truth, a son of Yashar’AL, who lacks in himself any deception!” 48 And Nathunu’Al said toward Him, “From where do you know me?” And YASHA’UĂ declared to him, “Before Phillippos called out to you—in your existing under the fig [tree]—I, I saw you!” 49 And Nathunu’Al replied, and he said toward him, “Great One! You are the Son of Ha’ALAHAYAM, You are He, the King of Yashar’AL!” 50 And YASHA’UĂ answered, and He said toward him, “Upon my saying to you that I saw you under the fig [tree] you believe? Behold! Greater than these you will observe! 51 Aman![13] Aman! I say unto you, from now on you will observe ha’Shamayam opened, and the messengers of ALAHAYAM ascending and descending upon the Son of the A’dam!”
